Our May distribution at Royal Gardens. Both CHB volunteers and Royal Gardens residents work together to put this event together. As always it was a pleasure to spend time with everyone there.

On Saturday, May 3rd, the Community Hygiene Bank had our annual Volunteer and Student Appreciation Event! We had a wonderful time of fellowship and celebrating all the hard work that went into the CHB over this past year. We recognized our interns: Emilie Williams, who is graduating with her Bachelor’s in Social Work, and Ana Nieves, who completed the first year of her Master’s in Social Work. We also surprised Josiah Lyon, our Program Assistant, who will be graduating with his Master’s in Social Work in August, and Scarlett Aeckerle, our Program Director!

Our volunteers are the heroes of the work we do at the Community Hygiene Bank. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to (585) 283-9356 or chbdirector@hygiene4all.org. Thank you again to all our students and volunteers!

The Community Hygiene Bank had another wonderful distribution on Saturday, May 3rd! Thank you to our volunteers and to everyone who showed up and made it a great day. This was our last distribution before we take a break over the Summer. We’ll see you all again in September!

The CHB makes up small emergency hygiene kits for those in need.

We thank the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority and CHB volunteers for helping us sort the hotel sized items for these kits.

Please contact us at (585) 283-9356 or email us at chbdirector@hygiene4all.org if you have a group who would like to help put these kits together. We do this several times a year.

The Stomp Out Hunger event was held on SUNY Brockport Camus on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. It gave college students an opportunity to learn about the many resources available to them and the Brockport community. The Community Hygiene Bank (CHB) was invited to attend and host an Informational table. Volunteers Kim Underwood, Mary Anderson and Brandon Krinkie represented the CHB and were able to interact with a number students that day who were interested in both our resources of basic hygiene products to people in need and volunteering to work with us.

We thank SUNY Brockport for the opportunity to have students get to know about our work, our volunteer opportunities and the hygiene resources we offer to the college, its students and surrounding community.

Join us for our three events this week! See more information below. RSVP to jlyon@hygiene4all.org to let us know if you can make it!

Two of our CHB youth volunteers were honored this past Thursday evening at the 2025 Legislative Youth Awards. In blue is Alexa Sanchez, with her brother, Izaiah Sanchez next to her in red. Both of these students have volunteered with the CHB since 2021. Jackie Smith, our District 2 County Legislator is on the far right in green. Jackie has been a wonderful supporter of our CHB work. Scarlett Aeckerle, Director of the Community Hygiene Bank is seen far left. Also pictured is Adam Bello, Monroe County Executive, along with Alexa, Izaiah, Jackie Smith, and all the other legislators and award winners behind them on stage at the event’s finale.

Congratulations to our remarkable young people!

We would like to take a moment to acknowledge another one of our amazing donors: St Pauly Textile! St. Pauly Textile Inc. is a Western NY based, family owned for-profit company and an A+ member of the Better Business Bureau. Their goal is to get usable clothing to people and organizations, here in the U.S. and in developing countries. St. Pauly has been a consistent donor to the Community Hygiene Bank and we are grateful for their ongoing support!
